Economic development in the valley has been a primary focus for the association since its inception. The BViA worked for nearly 30 years to accomplish flood control for the area. The association also worked with FEMA to lift the 100 year flood plain designation that hindered further development.  Recently, BViA took on MoDOT when plans for the renovation of the I-435/I-70 interchange called for the closure of the Manchester Trafficway interchange from I-70.

Although workforce education, industrial retention and development have been the association’s chief focuses through the years, the BViA also works for the betterment of the entire Blue Valley community.  Today, BViA continues to play an active role in the Blue Valley community with support of the Whatsoever Community Center, Harvesters and area clean-up days.
